What do you buy fit people for Christmas?

What do you buy fit people for Christmas?

If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know that around this time of year I like to do a little Christmas list of sorts.

And given it’s Black Friday today, there are a lot of nice offers out there if you have something on your mind to buy.

I’ve had a little root around to find great products with great offers.

Icebreaker

Brilliant for base layers and warm stuff. They’re not cheap but Mr L reckons his base layers I bought him a long time ago (years) and that he wore to death (literally holes) are the best ever. They don’t lose shape or size in the wash. They do have an offer on. 40% off selected styles rather than site wide but worth a look, especially if you have active men in your life who like to workout in the great outdoors. Icebreaker

Runderwear

Fit School community tested knickers and undergarments for running. These rate highly amongst our runners but they don’t come cheap. Fortunately there’s 25% site wide for Black Friday. Runderwear

Aftershokz

If it’s gadgetry you’re after then Aftershokz have some great offers. Again not site wide but given they only sell one thing, there’s a good chance you can get a great pair of bone conducting headphones with 20-30% off this weekend.

Sweaty Betty

Probably the best running leggings out there for their stayputtability, Sweaty Betty have 25% off site wide. I love their athlete vests for laying and their running vests too. I’ve still got some base layers which are over 10 years old and going strong too. Sweaty Betty

Bamboo Clothing

My new love is Bam. Fabulous bamboo clothing from leggings to tops and soft sweats to layer over fitness wear. They also do good socks AND they do stuff for blokes too. 20% off site wide and a free pair of socks with every order.

Dharmabums

You know these are my second favourite leggings. Great for staying put, washing and their provenance is sound. Debbie who owns Dharmabums knows all the factories who make her clothes personally. These leggings also wash and wash, aren’t see through and look good on everyone. They come up small but don’t be alarmed! Up to 40% off site wide both the UK and AUS stores.

Under Armour

Under Armour is our go to for functional basics. Leggings, caps, rain jackets, packable jackets plus they have men’s, women’s and kids’ ranges. It’s 30% off site wide.

SUSTAINABLE/ECO FRIENDLY

If sustainable is more your thing (and you aren’t fussed by Black Friday Discounts) then two brands to check out are Veja (trainers for the cool, trendy and eco-friendly) and Patagonia, a more established brand brilliant for sports and active wear, including ski wear.

NICE GIFTS WITH AN ALMOST NON-EXISTENT LINK TO FITNESS

Finally, I’ve got to mention four favourite brands which aren’t really fitness related but are nice, a few are related to our Fit School Community.

1. Conscious Chocolate

Thought I’d sneak in another little love here. Who doesn’t need sweet sustenance after a hefty workout? Conscious Chocolate bars are all 99p this weekend. That’s a 50% saving.

2. Typo

Brilliant for all things stationery and gifting and 40% off site wide this weekend. Typo

3. Alice’s Wonders

Brilliant for accessories, hats, gifts and scarves. 30% off bags and purses this Friday. There’s also an Epping based shopping event on 10th December. If you fancy it, speak to Cathy in Monday’s Pilates class. Alice’s Wonders

4. Edinburgh Gin

If you haven’t tried their Rhubarb and Ginger gin yet, do it! Even Mr L likes this little tipple. Edinburgh Gin

And that’s it! If you have any top tips please do share.

And if you are after gifting Pilates or a membership to a friend, you can buy vouchers in our shop.
