The BIG FIT Christmas List

The BIG FIT Christmas List

It’s time … if Mariah’s ready then so am I … it’s the day to officially reveal the BIG FIT Christmas List

With Black Friday just around the corner, here’s my amalgamation of stuff I’d quite like and stuff I think fitness/Pilates peeps would appreciate in their stockings.

There’s a good dose of buy and support local, some experiences and of course some good causes to donate too.

If you’ve got any great ideas or Christmas wishes, send them my way and I’ll come up with something you can accidentally on purpose share with your loved ones.

THE BIG FIT CHRISTMAS LIST

Top of the list has to be new workout gear. I love seeing everyone’s new leggings in January.

YogaLeggs have been busy adding new styles to their collection including plain leggings.
Check out these charcoal grey ones although I’m currently lusting after the khaki leggings with pockets since my teal version of these are my absolute favourites and sadly now have holes in. They did my marathon hike with me and regularly attend winter tennis sessions.

They also have some fab new socks, tops and jackets in their range too.

YogaLeggs are based in Epping so you can save on delivery and occasionally pick stuff up on the same day (perfect for any last minute shoppers).

For the person who wants to buy a functional item, you can’t go wrong with a yoga mat. I love my YogaMad extra thick yoga mat that I picked up at the Yoga Show. They’re great quality and some are available on Amazon too.

Pilates studio at home. If you’d like to get a studio at home kit - perfect for on demand or online attendees, I’m putting together a gift pack of: a soft over ball; a medium tension band and a pair of small weighted balls all packaged up in a tote bag for £40 and of course free delivery to Epping and classes. If you’re interested please let me know, I’ll need orders by 30th November to fulfil before Christmas.

For the person who likes to train in the gym or on the road too (and why wouldn’t you?) some brilliant investment for year round training include:
Weights
Trainers
Trail running shoes
Waterproof socks
A flip belt or bum bag for accessories
A fluorescent running vest or flashing accessories for night time running
Running hat (we love the Runr ones)
Waterproof cap - perfect for spectacle wearers
Running sunglasses (we love the Goodr ones)
And of course a bag or weights rack for optimal tidying of all of the above!

Accessories
Insulated flask to take hot drinks to class (we love Bru Cup another Epping based business) and a named water bottle (because they often get left in class).

Work from home fleece!

A treat to self
Cacao powder or nibs
Coffee press for one
A ninja or nutri-bullet for mixing up smoothies or protein shakes

For treat nights
Bath salts
Neal’s Yard range of muscle bath soaks and soothing balms.
L’occitane shower and bath gel (almond) it’s my favourite thing
Face balms for outdoor winter running like Neal’s Yard wild rose balm or a bespoke balm from Claire Blackie Aromatherapy

Experiences

Of course if you REALLY want to support someone’s fitness/health endeavours there’s a 90 Fit School Pass. It’s so easy to make excuses and not do the thing you know you really need to do. Gifting fitness isn’t just about parting with cash, it’s about saying to your significant other, ‘I support you in this.’

Gifting a Spa Day or evening out are all brilliant ways to gift this Christmas.

Have you ever been given THE PERFECT fitness gift? Let us know what it was and how it’s transformed your fitness life.

The BIG FIT Christmas Giving List

Perhaps you are in the spirit of giving this year.

There are a few local opportunities to give:

Care4Calais

Fit Schooler Di is co-ordinating collection efforts for Care4Calais. The charity is collecting clothes and shoes for children of all ages on 24th November to give to families currently housed in local facilities. There’ll be a later collection for adults. If you have clothes in good condition which you’d like to donate please let me know. I’m happy to take collections in class.

3food4u

Local food banks release ‘needs’ weekly. 3food4u

Festival of the Christmas Trees

St John’s Church will be hosting its popular festival of the Christmas Trees from December 1st-Monday 4th December again this year. It’s a great opportunity to support local charities (monies raised go to nominated charities) and it’s super festive too.
