Pilates and Prosecco
Escape from the real world and re-charge your soul
Would you like an evening out with a difference?
Do you enjoy Pilates, relaxation and good company?
Would you like a class that will leave you blissed out, peaceful and put a smile on your face?
If so I invite you to join me for Pilates and Prosecco at St John the Baptist's church in Epping.
Here's what we'll do:
- A gentle, flowing Pilates class with plenty of options for newcomers or old hands alike.
- Settle in for some easy relaxation and deep breathing (no ohms or existential meditation).
- Enjoy each others' company with some social time after the class.
- Enjoy a glass of Prosecco, home made cake and nibbles.
- I’ll be joined by my special helpers (on cakes and refreshment).
This is a Pilates class with heart, soul and good cake.
I’m Karen, and I’m a Pilates instructor
Over the past 20 years, I’ve taught Pilates to hundreds of people across London and Essex, many of my participants have been with me for years and frequently say things like:
- I suddenly noticed my back pain had gone
- I've done Pilates before but no instructor has explained it like you do
- I've tried and stopped exercise before but you've enabled me to stick to it for the first time
- I love my weekly sessions with you. It's an escape from everything else.
When I meet new participants I like to find out exactly what it is they're coming to classes for.
Then I plan each class with my individual participants' needs in mind to get them to a place where their bodies can move better and they feel stronger.
Pilates and Prosecco is an opportunity to dip your toe into Pilates and the way I teach.

Inside Pilates and Prosecco
After a brief standing mobility sequence, we move through a matwork Pilates class.
The class is designed to be accessible for newcomers but I'll provide progressions or adaptations for anyone who needs a little more or something to help them achieve the movements.
- We focus on spine and joint movement to help unlock tension.
- We find ways of getting core muscles in the back, tummy, shoulders and bottom to work to help support us.
- We breathe and get blood flowing around the body to help energise us.
After the class, we’ll guide you through gentle relaxation and mindful meditation.
Our evening ends with home made cake, easy chatting and of course Prosecco or non-alcoholic bubbles.
The whole evening is around 90 minutes - 50 minutes of Pilates, 10 minutes of relaxation and 30-45 minutes to chat over nibbles and refreshments.
How to join
Everything is included apart from your mat.
I'll even send you a recorded class to keep and do again in your own time.
There are members, newcomers and guests often bring a friend or relative to join in too.
If you're coming alone, there'll be plenty of friendly faces to welcome you in.
After a week of sleeping really badly, I was sound out last night for 8 hours! The meditation at the end set me up well for that - thanks again.
Here’s what previous attendees love about the evening:
1. Getting a night off for themselves.
2. The beautiful, peaceful venue.
3. The Pilates.
4. It’s mainly all the nice bits of Pilates (in class I usually make them work a bit harder).
5. A glass of chilled Prosecco.
6. Really good cake (I cut it into little bits so you can have a selection and it’s magic calorie free cake).
7. Great company.
8. A seriously good night’s sleep afterwards.
